Xtreme Power of the Mine
Open mine is a great challenge for all earth-moving machines, especially when the mine is located in a remote area high above the sea level where the air is thin, posing difficulty to the engine, and where there is no service center around, requiring the machine to be highly reliable. Among the few machines meeting the extreme requirement, there is the XE900C excavator provided by XCMG.
In an open mine in Yunnan province located in Southeast China, XCMG XE900C is working 12 hours a day and 7days a week with outstanding performance. Yunnan is famous for its gorgeous landscape and scenery, yet the high altitude and humidity is not quite favorable for construction machines and the operators. According to the operators, XE900C delivers as good performance as other imported machines working in the mine and at the same time costs less fuel.
To cope with the tough working conditions, XE900C is configured with a new generation of advanced electronic control Cummins engine QSX15. The emission meets Tier 3 standard, achieving higher output power while with low fuel consumption. The machine employs a fully independent cooling system with radiator and oil cooler installed in parallel. The cooling fan is automatically controlled according to the temperature of the hydraulic oil. The fan is quipped with a dedusting function, which requires less maintenance cost and time, increasing operating time and working efficiency.
XE900C has been widely used in many open mines in China and Australia and has been the first choice for mine owners. Its little brother XE700C is also among the mining equipment portfolio provided by XCMG. At present, XCMG provides complete solution of mining equipment combined with large-tonnage excavators and mining dump trucks. The mining excavators range from 70-400 ton, and the dump trucks range from 45-240 ton.
